Privacy Policy

In short: MomentVid processes your videos on your device. We do not operate user accounts, cloud storage, analytics, or advertising networks. We do not collect personal data on our servers because we do not operate backend servers for the app.

This Privacy Policy describes how MomentVid (“we,” “us,” or “the app”) handles information when you use our iOS application. By using MomentVid, you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

MomentVid is a travel-focused video capture and cropping tool for iPhone. For privacy-related questions, contact: Dedkarman@icloud.com

2. Information stored on your device

MomentVid stores the following locally on your iPhone, inside the app’s container and related storage:

Video clips you record or import
Thumbnails and exported video files you create
Trip chapter names, shot checklists, clip notes, and app settings (for example, default export options, grid preferences)
Export history metadata (such as preset names and timestamps) to help you track past exports

This data remains on your device unless you delete it in the app, remove the app, or save exports to the system photo library.

3. Permissions we request

MomentVid may ask for the following Apple system permissions, only when needed for features you use:

Camera — to record travel videos when you choose to open the camera.
Microphone — to record audio with videos when you use the camera.
Photo Library (read) — to import videos you select from your library.
Photo Library (add) — to save exported videos to your library when you export a delivery set.

You can deny or revoke permissions in iOS Settings. Some features will not work without the relevant permission.

4. What we do not do

We do not require you to create an account.
We do not upload your videos or personal content to our servers.
We do not provide a social feed, messaging, or cloud sync service.
We do not embed third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app (as described for the current version).
We do not sell your personal information.

5. Location and other metadata

If a source video file already contains location or other metadata (for example, GPS embedded by the Camera app), MomentVid may read that metadata only on your device to support features such as moment information or export labeling. We do not send location data to our servers.

6. Processing and export

Video cropping, mood tints, travel frames, moment stamps, and exports are performed on your device using Apple frameworks (such as AVFoundation and Core Image). When you export, finished files are written to app storage and, if you allow, to your photo library.

7. Mock / development capture (optional)

If you enable mock capture in Settings, the app may use a bundled still image to simulate recording for testing (for example, on Simulator). That processing also occurs locally and does not upload the image.

8. Children’s privacy

MomentVid is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.

9. Data retention and deletion

You control your content. You may delete clips and chapters within the app, remove exported files from Photos, or delete the app to remove local app data. Uninstalling MomentVid removes data stored in the app’s sandbox, subject to iOS behavior and any files you saved elsewhere.

10. Security

We rely on Apple’s iOS security model to protect data stored in the app container. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for securing your device (passcode, Face ID, backups).

11. International users

Because processing happens on your device, your data is not transferred to us for cloud processing. If you use the app while traveling, your device and iOS handle storage according to your settings and region.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy at this URL and update the effective date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.

13. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Because we do not hold your content on our servers, you can exercise most controls directly by managing or deleting data in the app and in Photos. Contact us for other requests.
